Edward Francis Hanson, 77, died March 20, 2024. Oldest son of Alva (Larson) and Clement Hanson formerly of Nashwauk, Minnesota. Services at Nashwauk United Methodist Church , Nashwauk, Minnesota Saturday , April 13th, 2024,12:30 pm.
Edward grew up and graduated from Nashwauk-Keewatin High School in 1965 and began to continue his education at LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas. He completed his education at the University of Minnesota graduating with honors. After graduation Edward worked in the Cities, and then returned to Nashwauk to be employed at National Steel Pellet Plant as a plant operator. His employer transferred Edward to Turkey through Bong Mining Co. along with another transfer (with his family joining him) to Monrovia, Liberia, which employment ended when civil war erupted.
Edward (‘Keck”, “Fast Eddie”) is remembered for his immense ability of knowledge as those who knew him would attest to almost “pontifical”. He had Grandpa Adolph’s 1949 Black Chevy (which is still with family), as well as his 1968 green Mustang, & the little canary yellow pick-up. He played Bass guitar with brother Bob, brother David and friends in rock-n-roll band.
Survivors include: son Christopher, Daughter Jennifer (Hanson)(Adam) Castle, Grandchildren AnnaBelle, Ashton Castle, Adyson Castle, Alivia Castle, Brother Robert (Becky) Sister Susan (Steve) Modich, and Sister Shirley Hanson.
The Family of Edward expresses much gratitude to The Emerald’s at Grand Rapids, Minnesota , Moments Hospice Care with exemplary nurse Susan taking care of Edward and his enjoyment of “rock music” , and most especially our guardian for Edward, Mary Lynn DeGreene.
Those proceeding Ed in death are his parents, infant grandson Adam Lloyd Junior,wife Joyce, brother David and niece Heather.
